In April 2018 the academy, in partnership with North Hull Sports Network, began a pilot of what we believe is an outstanding use of our sports premium.
We have called this the Nuffield Project, and it is aimed at Y5. We use the Nuffield Health and Fitness gym in Hull.
The Nuffield Project aims to fulfil two aims;
a) To provide further quality swimming instruction: strengthening this crucial life skill and promoting health, fitness and a pastime. We call this #everychildaswimmer
b) To teach children tennis skills using a full size court with a qualified tennis coach. This again promotes healthy lifestyle choices and also giving children the opportunity to access something which they may not necessarily access. Children learn tennis skills on court at the health centre, then come back for further lessons, with one of our coaches, using some new resources.
